Origin Story
Shantawane, located in the Bensa district of Ethiopia's southern Sidama region, is one of the villages gaining attention as a producer of summer specialty coffee. This area is highly regarded by global buyers and roasters as "Bensa Coffee." Situated at an altitude of approximately 1900-2300m, the cool climate, significant day-night temperature differences, and volcanic soil slowly mature the coffee cherries, leading to a floral and transparent flavor. Coffee from this region is not produced by a single farm but by surrounding small-scale farmers, and the harvested ripe cherries are taken to the village's washing station for processing.
